COLLECT WATER INSTEAD OF HASSLES WITH DELTA INTAKE SCREENS.
Thousands of industrial facilities use large volumes of water from lakes, rivers, estuaries or oceans to cool their plants. Although abundant, surface water can be surprisingly difficult for municipal and industrial users to capture. The challenges are numerous.
- Injuring/destroying aquatic life
- Fluctuating water depths
- Debris deflection
- Installation restrictions
- Long-term maintenance
At Delta Screens, we manufacture exceptional-quality, passive, t-shape or single drum intake screens. Installed parallel to the current flow, the proven design efficiently collects a consistent rate of incoming water flow without plugging or harming aquatic life.
Wedge wire screen technology has been recognized by industry, and accepted by permitting agencies to effectively reduce impingement and entrainment mortality by providing a physical barrier preventing aquatic organisms larger than the slot size from becoming entrained. The sweeping current in the source water tends to move the aquatic organisms away from the entrained flow field and reduce impingement by moving organisms past the screen surface, minimizing direct contact with the intake.
